HISTORY
In the Summer of 2009, a few Marines and one FMF Corpsman, came together to discuss the possibility of forming a charitable non profit organization with the common bond of wearing the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and our love of motorcycles. We eventually decided to go forward with our plans and call ourselves the "Semper Fi Riders" with the purpose of combining our efforts in support of worthwhile causes involving America's veterans and their families by giving of our time and sponsoring our own charitable events.
Along with supporting activities such as "Toys for Tots" and visitations to various veterans retirement facilities we elected to organize our own motorcycle poker run with the donations and proceeds to support "Heroes Week" which is sponsored by the Semper Fi Community Task Force (SFCTF) located in Huntsville, AL. The Heroes Week Project is a 6-7 day event whereby as many as 30 current wounded warriors from all the military branches and their spouses/care providers travel to Huntsville and are treated to numerous activities such as a fishing tournament with professional Bass Master anglers, dinner cruise on Lake Guntersville, a formal dinner at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, a day at the spa for the ladies, tour of the Space and Rocket Center, special dining experiences at the Heritage Club, etc. All of this special tribute and treatment is enjoyed at no expense to our wounded warriors and can only be enjoyed through the generous donations of corporations, local businesses and private citizens.
